Life in a Dream 5 of 5 (Leto/Joker x Reader) The next morning you wake up first, confused for a second at the sight of the unfamiliar room. And then it all floods back. You turn your head, looking at the man lying beside you. His mess of green hair stands out against the white cotton. That plus the natural pallor of his skin combine to make him still look very Jokerish, the remnants of yesterday's make up adding to the effect. He breathes lightly, fast asleep and far more innocent-looking than you have ever seen him. Your heart clenches at the sight. But what now, you wonder. Wait for him to wake? Go for breakfast together? Act like everything is normal, like we're just an average couple? No. None of this is normal. Harley and the Joker. Me and him. Neither couple makes much sense, not really. Better to sneak away now, carry on the way we were. This was fun but let’s not kid ourselves there’s going to be more to it. No future.
You know you're kidding yourself. You know it and yet you can't stop it
Life in a Dream 4 of 5 (Leto/Joker x Reader) 'And we are ready to go!' says Lizzie, your make-up artist, tilting her head to survey her handiwork once more. Thanking her, you hop out of the chair and head to the golf buggy waiting to take you to the set. You shiver with anticipation - a big scene is waiting for you today. The acid bath. The moment that Dr Harleen Quinzel truly becomes Harley Quinn. Of course the scene as it will appear in the film will be shot in much smaller pieces and stitched together. Today's work focuses on the moment Joker and Harley rise together out of the acid and she is woken by his kiss.
Another kiss. Ok. You can do this. You can do this and not get so ridiculously caught up in it this time. It's your job. You repeat this last thought like a mantra as you ride to the soundstage. When you arrive you see that once again you are the last to make it there. The Joker waits for you, reclining languidly on a chair. The vat of 'acid' bubbles threateningly in front of you. Adam, one of the Assista
Life in a Dream 3 of 5 (Leto/Joker x Reader)[A/N: Parts 1 and 2 are on my profile if you've missed them! And please do let me know what you think, hope you enjoy this madness]
Over the next few days you are relieved to see that nothing has changed. Shooting of the date night scene continues and the spark between you and the Joker is, as far as you're concerned, as strong as ever. Neither of you mentions your private version of date night, but you find your thoughts drifting towards the memory with a somewhat annoying regularity. It was just a kiss, you remind yourself, he probably isn't mooning over it. And yet, you cannot help but notice the way he looks at you: the hunger in his eyes which doesn't turn off when the cameras do, which he makes no pretence of hiding. He wants you. And so you decide to use that to both your advantages...
Looking at your call-sheet for the next week, you see that for the first time all of your scenes are with the other squad members. Not a single one with him. Not until the one i
Life in a Dream 2 of 5 (Leto/Joker x Reader)[A/N: So part 2, check out part one if you've not read it yet, but basically a reader insert in which the reader happened to be cast as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad.]
Over the next few days the two of you start to fall into some sort of weird routine; rehearsing together, shooting together, hanging around between takes together, but never once speaking out of character. The crew and the rest of the cast seem to pretty much take it in stride – some see it as a long-running gag you’re playing, others as some weird experimental style you’ve adopted. After all, every actor has their process and, as Will had remarked to you, ‘Whatever gets you there, man.’
A week into filming and you’re scheduled for a couple of night shoots. Your assistant Carol fills you in: ‘Ok so this week we’re starting the date night scene with Harley and Joker – you guys are in the car, Batman starts chasing you and so on and so on.’
‘Uh huh,’ y
